alloy welder

hi all just a quick one just found out that my snowies have cracks in them on the inner back lip does anyone know of a good alloy welder in or around cambridge area

Not in Cambridge but a guy near me did my irmy wheels and there still as strong as ever , You have to watch who you get to do them because they need to cut a wedge out and weld them and there best to leave the weld in tact on outside of wheel for strength.

As bigmac says, possible to do and the repair is as above.
Bear in mind that when people properly train to be a coded welder, they advise against repairing alloys. Reason being that the alloys are cast and by grinding out a fillet and infilling with weld, you create two structural interfaces in the metal that have different material properties to the parent metal.

If they are actually trained as a coded welder, they are ignoring their training. If they are not trained, what comeback would you have?

Your choice m8, but for my money, weigh it in and get a new one
