    Default Another Damp Carpet Story

The passenger side rear footwell was damp ,
so i thought it might have been the kids leaving a drink open on the floor .

Thought no more of it and today i was cleaning out the car for getting my front bumper resprayed ( not related i know , but like to give a stranger a tidy vehicle ) ,

anyway , i was tidying the front passenger footwell and that is damp too .

BUT ......... The space / carpet between the rear and front foot well is NOT wet ,,, i.e. under the front passenger seat .

Do you think my door seals are failing ? ( there is no damp on any door though )

Or maybe it's rising up from under , but i won't be able to check under the car until tomorrow , when i get the vectra back from the sprayer .

Ohh , i forgot to say , it is only on the passenger side and not the drivers side .

    Thanks for any replies .

Most likely to be the drain hole in front of the pollen filter is blocked and water's coming in through there which is VERY common in the Vecs if you dont keep the drain hole clear and it's runing along the channels under the carpet.

Is this the answer for both front and rear footwells ,

because i have a DRY patch separating the two wet patches which is under the front passenger seat .

    Thank you .

As I said, chances are the water that's getting past the front carpet is running down channels under the carpet before hitting the back hence the apparently dry patch.
