    Default vec c alarm question

bit of an odd question, but i left the window open today for a while, and the alarm went off. no problem there, but i was told it was a very quiet alarm, and came from the boot area, i didnt even hear it go off tbh. is this normal? my vec b set the horn off, and was stupidly loud lol

I guess they fitted the power sounder in the boot to stop it being tampered with by thieves. The Vec-B power sounder was outside the car in one of the wheel arches which made it easy for the thieves to get at.

Good idea that would be perfect if they'd fitted a second sounder, or the horn went off too, or it was possible to diy fit an additional siren.
It is a VERY loud alarm when it's going off in your hand, but not so when it's in its secret sound proof cave.

Sadly that doesn't work on my 52 plate, I've tried a few times and my ears have suffered (but atleast I've learned to have ignition on when i unplug the siren). I'd be happy with the warning for the reassurance of hearing the alarm going off.
