Default Software update on my 1.9cdti 150

Following on from my previous thread where my motor went into limp mode after running like a bag of spanners, I have now received the car back from Vx today. They ran a diagnostic check which came back with 'PO203 cyl3 injector circuit open' (and a couple of others which were apparantly old). All they then did was run a software update on the car and it now runs like a new one. The old 'judder' and slight misfire around 1500 rpm has dissapeared and it hasnt run this well since I first bought it. I am confused at how a simple update could sort a problem like this, I am not convinced it wont return, as surely if there is a problem with the injector wiring, then there is a problem and that is that, why would an update sort the problem ?

I'm not complaining mind I thought I'd be forking out more than £65 !!!

    Any thoughts ?? Thanks !!

There is an issue with the wiring at injector nr.3. It has been debated all over the forum.

They probably cleaned the plug but if the problem comes back you should change the plug.

Sounds very much like the no 3 injector connection problem as the member above has said - can't see that a software update would solve the problem (although it won't do any harm) - they have probably cleaned the connection with contact cleaner which has improved the connection. I would take the cover off the top of the engine and have a look - the old type connectors are yellow the replacements are blue
