    Default Signum Head Gasket

I need a good Vauxhall Signum Mechanic as i think that my head gasket has gone on my 3.2 2003 Signum. I live in Nottingham, but would be willing to travel a reasonable distance,if necessary. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

    All The Best...Ray

What are you basing the diagnosis on?

The 3.2 is renound for a little sludge (mayo) on the oil filler cap, giving the impression of HG failure

Hello Mate, I am going on the fact that it is using water and that there is the grey/khaki coloured gunge in the header tank and the oil filler. Although the car does not seem to be overheating and there is no steam coming from the exhaust pipe.

    What do you think,Mate?

Ignore the sludge in the oil filler tube, that's always there, caused by condensation. The gunge in the header tank is more telling though. Have you tried doing an oil change and seeing what the condition of the oil is?

With the old 3.0 Omega it use to be water in the oil = head gasket, oil in the water = oil cooler

I'm not sure if the 3.2 suffer from the same problem as they use to. Does it look like oil in the header tank?

Its Mayo in the header tank though the oil on the dipstick is the normal black in colour. There was a sniffer test done on the header tank and the black liquid did turn dark green, but not yellow,.

I've heard on here, that sometimes it's the oil cooler that blows/cracks. Check that
