there shouldn't be a problem but I always poke a bolt through the alloy and see how much thread pokes though... my personal limit is at least 'diameter of thread+2 threads'.

So I should have the same amount of thread showing on bit wheels plus 2 extra threads showing on the after Market ones

Sorry Paul..I think I've just given you the worst bit of advice ever what I should have said is 'dia of thread+brake disc thickness + 2 threads'..(sorry been working with wheel spacers too much of late where not had to concider disc).. but the general rule of nuts/threaded holes is that you want at least 2 threads protuding through... check the bolts with original/after market wheels.. if the exposed thread is equal to or more than on the aftermarket ones they'll be fine

note to ones self...don't answer posts when i've had a beer or two lol

Don't also forget that the taper of the bolt might be different to that of the seating faces of holes in the alloy wheel.

If he's using the original 'alloy' bolts the taper will be the same... as far as I know they're all standard now....radius are radius, tapered are tapered.. they're not manufacture specific.
