    Default which fuel

Just wondering, whats your opinions on stuff like the bp ultimate and shell vpower stuff. I generally stick to the idea of whacking some redex in the fuel tank every once in a while. but does that higher priced diesel actually help (in a 1.9cdti anyway).

I know some people swear by it, especially those that drive the bigger machines like audis and bmw's, but that could just be because they can afford to pay extra for fuel and it provides a placebo effect.

I was thinking of sticking some of the stuff in just for the sake of it, but do you need to run it constantly to actually make it worthwhile, or can i substitute it for the redex ?

Supermarket fuel for me it's cheaper, as for fast performance mine is a diesel it's for comfort not racing speed.

I've tried BP ultimate in my CDTi and my bike. Only difference I felt was in my wallet!

Lot of people here swear by Shell V, I just use normal Shell with either Millers or 2 stroke oil.

    Vehicle : Insignia Tourer

    Trim : Elite

    Engine : 2.0 CDTI (160ps)

    Year : 2010

Previously always used Tesco Momentum 99 (99 ron), but recently been using BP Ultimate (97 ron) purely and simply because I've moved into the sticks a bit and there's a BP garage at the entrance to our village so it's convenient to fill up on the way to or from work (and doing 200 miles a week now, I'm filling up a lot more often). There is a Tesco not too far away, so will be treating the old girl to Momentum 99 occasionally when I can be bothered to drive the extra couple of miles lol

I used to run Tesco's 99RON in my Coupé Turbo, but I just stick to boggo Unleaded for my Veccy now.

I didn't really see any difference with 98ron in my N.a. 2.2 coupe, in fact it felt quicker with regular 95ron. I'm not sure the ecu really adjusted for it, even after months of use.

On my turbo signum however, I can see the benefit of vpower. I get a couple of mpg more economy at cruising speed, and it feels slighty more sprightly. It's measurable aswell. With my ecu reader I can see the long term fuel trims are way down.

I am trying out the Shell fuelsaver right now as we have a shell opposite Tesco's in Killie and they are the same price.

I feel the car is a touch smoother but at around 51mpg a litre per tank of a saving ain't really gonna make me stand up and take much notice,,,
