Default Any idea whats up with my motor this time ??

I'm at my wits end with my 05 1.9cdti (150). Having only last month replaced the EGR Valve and Inlet Manifold, I recieved a phone call from my missus today saying the car was misfiring again, and, as she stated 'running like a bag of ****e'. I got home to find it limped down the road at a snails pace. Now it didn't appear to be misfiring as such, but there was absolutely NO POWER what so ever, I didnt even want to risk pulling out at a junction so turned it around and chucked it back on the drive hoping someone would nick it.

Has anyone any ideas at all what this could mean or experienced similar circumstances, thanks, and I apologise for the waffle !!

(There was a spanner light on, but this has been on for a bit anyway as the service is due, it would normally go off, but didnt today as I didnt drive it long enough !)

Maybe... our lass just informed me before it started playing up she drove over what looked like a can and it sounded like it bounced up under the engine ??

    Get the codes read mate.
But get it serviced to as it could be a dirty fuel filter.

But would say MAP or MAF sensor possibly.

As for popping under engine it shouldnt have hit anything other than the under tray unless you've removed it?

check the boost sensor they are prone to filling up with crud you will need iirc a 25 torx drive to remove the bolt its located about 5 inches to the left of the egr valve on the back of the manifold in front of the diesel filter it has a plug on this will need removing first you may need to push the pipe out of the way to get the drive in to undo the screw holding the sensor in place i use carb cleaner to remove the crud a few good long squirts does the trick then give the sensor a shake keep repeating this until its clear

Thanks for the replies, the car is at Vx at the minute to be diagnosed, I'll see what comes of that !! Cleaning the boost sensor was something I have been meaning to get around to doing the last few weeks but never had the chance so it may well be that !! (Hopefuly) !!

If injector plug on number 3 cylinder is yellow then its need changing to the modified part whcih is blue. It will be interesting if VX pick this up as my local VX tried to get me to replace loads of other things first when they should have just changed the plug.
To be honest this modification should be done on all 150 CDTi's which have yellow plugs regardless if there is an issue or not.

Any idea where I can get these ere blue leads from, mine are yellow, I remember looking in the past. Incidentally when I had it in the garage last month for the inlet manifold and EGR valve, they did say there was still a slight misfire, wonder if this could be the same thing ??

Yes the misfire is likely to be caused by the old yellow plug. There is a "how to" on the forum and it should cost less then £50 for VX to do it.
Parts are about £11 from VX if you want to do it yourself
