    Default Carbon wrap.

    Hey guys,

Today i started my carbon wrap and i have wrapped the pillars where the front and back doors join and i was after a little bit of advice and people opinion on something,

My first question is... on the drivers side door but the rear door, there is a big pannel to the left of the window ( and opposite for the passengers side rear door) i wanted to carbon wrap this as i have already done the 2 centre pillars, how do you remove this pannel? and also is there a guide for how to remove the wing mirrors because i would also like to wrap the black bit that the wing mirrors are attatched to, i hope all this makes sense.

I was also after peoples opinions on an idea that i had recently, i love the look of carbon fibre, and i have a silver lightening car, i was after some wind deflectors and i think that if i can do it right and i can carbon wrap the wind deflectors then it would look really cool, what does everyone think?

    Thanks

    OllyT

The rear pillars are easy to get off, there's screws hidden under the rubber in the window frame on the hatch or one bolt behind the door panel on the estate or signum. The mirrors you have to take the front door interior panels off, undo the three screws on the inside under where the tweeter is mounted and unplug the cable to the mirrors to remove them. Once they're off, you have to pop the colour trim piece that wraps round the mirror support out so that you can carbon trim the main base panel (which doesn't come off).

If you get stuck and fancy a trip down to Witchford near Ely at the weekend, give me a shout and you can come down here and I'll give you a hand. Done several now including my own.

    Edit: pics of mine...

I cant find anyway of removing the part that i want to carbon wrap, i can see in your picture that you have wrapped the 2 pillars and that what ive done so far, but its the part at the far left of that window, but its still attatched to the door.

How far away is ely from northampton? haha

    About 63 miles.

I assume you're talking about the trim piece on the back end of the window on the rear door on the hatch (just before the c pillar). If so, they are very easy to get out, two or three bolts behind the window rubber, pull the plastic trim off the inside (it just pops off) and there's one more bolt underneath that from memory.

I've done several of them now for various people on the forums fella, you're more than welcome to come down if you fancy the drive and I'll give you a hand.

Have you seen the silver carbon fiber wrap? Might be worth a go for the wind deflectors, something different.
