    Default Vectra c vs signum

at end ofthis year im looking at getting another car possibly diesel

i could do with a little bit more room ie boot space but not essential

what is the main diffrence between the cars ie spec (extrta the vecy c doesnt have )

am i right in saying they have overhead storage along the car and a seperate cd / or radio in the back

last time i think i saw ones of these was when they 1st come out my mate was a rep and they give him one to try i had a play in it but this was a very long time ago

are they wider than the veccy c or are they basically the same car but a tad diffrent in certain areas

Same width. It's only the arse end that's different.

Based on the Vectra-C estate chassis, so the wheelbase will be slightly longer between the front and rear wheels than the hatch or saloon, IIRC. Also the rear seat is moveable to give more leg room.

edit - and yes, you're right. The Sig comes with more toys when comparing like for like trim levels.

Vehicle : Vectra and a Signum

Trim : top of the line in both

    Engine : Z18XE,Z19DTH,Z20NET

    Year : 2006

    Default

the Signum has more room for the rear passengers and more luxurious rear seats (reclining, heated, slide forward etc), well two of them are, the middle seat or 'jump seat' as I have heard it called is a folded down jobby. The preface had lots of roof compartments going all the way back to the the rear seats (at least the Elite model has). The signum sits on a Vectra Estate chassis but is not as long as the estate car. The boot space is very good but I think the Vectra has a deeper boot but the signum has a lower sill for ease of loading like and estate

The Signums seem to come with more toys and are some members on here state that they consider them to be better built.. Trim levels (Elite, Design, SRi, Exclusive etc etc) dictate what comforts, gadgets and toys you get plus what boxes the original owner ticked on his order form. Rear Audio was one such option, it is not standard. It permits the rear passenger to plug in a headphone and select a different music source to the front passengers, for instance the driver may be listening to the CD70 radio but your passengers in the back can listen to a CD/MP3 or even an external/Aux In source like an Ipod etc. Rear heated seats and rear audio can be retrofitted if it did not come with the car

I am sure I have missed something but somebody else will quickly fill in the blanks...

it looks like i will have to do some carefull thinking on this then

is the CD70 built with sat nav already in or is the cd70 one where it is adaptable

i have seen them on the net with and without sa nav but i always though vauxhall's when they band the cd player are pecific to 1 type ie like some of the old veccy cd players some where siemens and some vdo same company but they branded the cd players with diffrent codes (i think lol )

the reason i want the extra space is that my young un's pram is massive i can get it in theveccy now and have a bit of room for some shopping or junk if we go on a day out could do with a bit extra

With the signum they sacrificed some boot space for the sake of extra leg room and comfort for the rear passengers. Sounds to me like the vec estate may what you looking for.

speaking from experience I can vouch for this, the estate has more than enough room in the boot, rear leg room for passengers and front space too.

When we go on our hols we can take our young'uns bike, toys, pram etc along with 2 suit cases and others bits and pieces. I thought my Passat was big but the Vectra estate just seems so much bigger.

You need to go and see one in the flesh, I'd take interior pics etc for you but it's always better to have a look yourself

if its boot space your after dont be fooled by the signum, im struggling with the boot space a bit.
however i LOVE the look of the signum from the back, much prefer it to the vec estate but thats just imo.

it really depends what your after

I prefer the Siggy as I often have 4 people in the car with the dog so everyone's comfortable.

If you rarely have any back seat passengers and need boot space more than rear legroom then the Estate looks like the better option for you.
