Egr valve

Hi I have a 2.2 Sri 03 plate can someone tell me where the egr valve is or even better have a pic of it any help would be great cheers

Mate cant deffo say about your model,but i got sent a pic of mine on 2002 vectra and found it inbetween the right side of the engine and the battery obviously attached to the side of the engine. If you look for my thread egr valve 2002 vectra it may help as a pic was posted on there

Thanks Davie I might have the same prob as u I'm not sure yet my car when in low gears shudders as if it's goin to stall so need to keep the revs up and there is no power at all just nothin there when putting the foot down cheers

Yeah its a nightmare mate hope it isnt the same problem asmine as its an expensive one but if your midel has a egr valve just take it off and blank it thats what i did on the recommendation of a mechanic friend and he talked me through it.. 10 mins work mate. Seemingly egr valves only really get used on motorway miles...,how true i dont know but ive got my car back after new clutch and hes blankef the egr valve and its sweet...

Thanks Davie I have no elm on so no codes to go on I replaced the airflow meter just now if it's not that I will move on to the egr valve next cheers mate

I take it were talking petrol 2.2?

If so this is the 2.2 EGR. Its the barrol shaped thing, yours wont have that black think as mine's been blanked.

THIS link shows you how to test the EGR.....

You can blank the EGR is the EGR is still working as the ECU needs to think its still there so it still needs to be plugged into the loom.

To totally take out the EGR it has to be blanked and Tech 2's out of the car or else you'll get a warning light......The other way is to blank it and fit a Cheater (£10) into the loom HTH

Thanks mate mines is still plugged in not sure if it's working or just clogged up mate car is running bad no power and chugging so think it might be the egr I'm hoping to take the valve out and clean then see where I go from there thanks
