Default 3.2 GSi slight misfire, need help....

Hi all, My gsi hass started to play up. have narrowed it down to what feels like a very slight misfire. happens at low rev underload, but not all the time just on and off.

have just checked the codes there and they have comeback clear.

its new plugs just fitted, but the rear coil pack was submerged in oil due to a rocker gasket leak. could have been like that for some time. but ran fine before i changed everything. could disturbing the coilpak in its bath of oil cause it to start going faulty? cheers, Tim

Was it miss firing before you changed the plugs?

Not trying to be funny but if it was ok before chances are its something you've done so don't worry i doubt it'll be anything serious. Did you check the spark plug gaps before you fitted them?

How much of a misfire is it? Is it only under load? Really sounds like a plug or coil.

What did the coil packs look like mate? Was there any rust about them? They are really prone to breaking up after time, maybe removing them has pushed one to breaking point. I know DaveDempsey replaced both of his a while back and this cured his.

its ever so slight misfire normaly seems to happen in second gear around 1500k mark. just a stutter. but if you plant it she goes fine. just away to go get some new plugs the now. just incase one of the bosch ones is being lazy. if it sorts it i shall be sending them back for a ebay refund fingers crossed

the coil packs looked ok. slight bit of rust where the 2 bolts go thru but that was it. also one of the isolation rubbers had a split in it that was the side full of oil but didnt look to bad after i cleaned it up to be honest.
