I'm going to stick my neck out here and say you will be overweight , if common sense prevails - how can you tow something legally , which weighs more than the car your towing with ? so if your car weighs around 1400 kg at a guess , surely you cant tow 2000 kg
I was under the impression it was around 80% of your cars weight (so say around 1100 kg ) which would be the astra plus another 3-400kg for your trailer. If your trailer has twin axles it also needs to be braked on both axles , and be fitted with a breakaway line .
Towing trailers is a risky occupation these days .

I will keep my neck here and say that you will be overweight if common sense prevails - how can you get something that weighs more than legally tow your car? So if your car weighs about 1400 kg at a guess, you can not pull 2000 kg was under the impression that it was about 80% of your weight cars (so to speak, about 1100 kg) Astra is the most another 300 to 400 kg trailer. If your trailer has double axle, it must also be stopped on both axles, and be equipped with a line break. Trailer towing is a risky business in those days.

You will be fine. It's the kerbweight you will need to look at.

If your Astra weighs 1150kg's and the trailer comes in at say 200kg's you will have a total of 1350kg's.

That is no more than your average 4 berth caravan. I can't work it out exactly as I am in Los Angeles at the moment but our caravan is 1455kgs an my old Vectra Sri 150 CDTi we were towin at 95% of the kerbweigt which is perfectly safe for the experience tower. Now I know that the Vectra VXR was better because we looked at buying on.
