    confused Caliper mount bolts

Ok so like many the back brakes needs new discs/pads. Many threads (also haynes) state new bolts to be used. Fair enough but if this is the case why does not one Vx dealer in Berkshire stock any? Surley they change them as advised on their many disc swaps a week in house & would readily stock them??
So is it COMPLETELY needed or have people not bothered & still braking happily? I read again in many posts to damaged heads due to the high torque settings so think I would rather play safe & have some new spares ready! I just dont understand why not easier available. Any thoughts please...

Well you've both lived to tell the tale I guess. I just know a job isn't done till something goes wrong first. Stripped head etc.

Is the LocTite a necessity? (Probably a daft question)

Well it was used in the original assembly process on the production line.

Depends how confident you feel about your nuts not coming loose.

I believe one of the main reasons for the Loctite is also to stop water ingress up the threads. There torqued up so tight, if they also rusted they would be impossible to get off without heat.

That's what I though rushy. I had to use a torch to get mine off last week. I used Coppaslip when I put them back in. Never had any bother on previous cars... :S
