    Default Neuton 5000's on 18"?

Looking at fitting some neuton 235 40 18's on my rims, anyone else have tyres this width fitted and are there any problems with tram-lining / road noise etc?

Just thinking the wider tyre may protect the alloys a bit better (18" snowflakes) and give slightly better grip or am I better off with the slightly cheaper 225 40 18's?

Cheers for that Derek, I'm going to order these tomorrow if there's no problems with clearance. I've had a feel about and there seems to be plenty of room so I don't forsee any problems, just got to find a cheap tyre fitter in Liverpool now

    Update:

Ordered four of these on Monday. they arrived today about eleven o clock, most suprised at the speed of delivery, 10/10 to Neo Bros for that!

Took an hour or two off work and got them fitted, and after a bit of ringing round, the local kwikfit was the cheapest and the nearest <shudder!> So I chucked the neutons and the snowies in the boot and toddled off down the road to kwikfit for the fitting ceremony. The lad asked me if they were going on the vec, I said yes so I got the neutons paired to the snowies, balanced etc, then my twinblades removed and the snowies fitted to the car all for a tenner a corner, well made up

The lad who fitted them asked me where they were from, couldn't believe the build quality and said the tread pattern looked pretty impressive for budget tyres which gave me some confidence. My experience with tyre fitters who only fit (not supply), is they are quite happy to rubbish what you've brought unless they are a top-of-the-range brand and even then they want to sing the praises of whatever they supply, so very pleased with them and that's before they've rolled an inch

So from buying them the Monday, I'm rolling them on the Tuesday, haven't even got my hands dirty, lovely job!
