Cd 70 nav

hope some one can help, nav disc ejected will in use, now says no nav disc, even thou its in , next time you switch in on it says invalid disc, will not eject now.

First thing would be to check your map disc for dirt, scuffs, scratches. If its clean then could be a dirty laser lens. Could try a cd cleaning kit, give it a few applications and see if things improve.
Another possibility is condensation on the disc or laser lens. Can be a problem if your car has any leaks. Which, lets face it, its a vectra, so, you know, a sieve on wheels.
Ultimately these units are likely to give up at some point, so if its still playing up after ruling out everything else, well it could be on its last legs and time to hunt down a newer one.

Whoa!! Slow down a bit..
Sometimes the laser lens gets too dirty for a standard cd drive cleaner disc.
I had to clean my lens using a dry cotton bud / q-tip.
There is thread I wrote somewhere a few years ago.

For information, I had identical symptoms.
After cleaning the lenses on both of our cars, we have had trouble free service for about 6 years.
