    Hmmm

"interior light fails to work after working on the glove box light"

The obvious one for me here is Fuse 12 at the end of the dash panel.

This is the BCM overload protection fuse... this often blows when people work on the glove box light.

Excellent! Just the topic I was looking for!

What's the rating of this fuse??

I want to tap into the supply to the manual interior light switch and use it to power an onboard camera mounted behind the rear view mirror (around 500mA to 900mA), without having leads and cables all over the shop.

    By my estimation, the interior lights are 2 x 5w bulbs = 840mA @ 12v
I have LED's fitted instead of w5w's, so in theory I should have plenty of power to play with.... Unless the supply to the manual switch doesn't in fact bypass the control module.

    Anyone know?

Should be enough to run a camera...

I tapped into the interior light to provide a direct feed to a rear interior light panel.. think this has two 5 watt bulbs in it.
I have had no problems since doing the installation.
