The ECU needs time to adjust and learn that the engine doesn't need to work hard to move the exhaust gases out. I thought the exact same as you, but trust me - it will be more apparent over a few hundred miles. It's not a massive increase but the engine definitely feels like it can breath easier over the rev range.
ah..........thank the lord, thought i'd just wasted 400 notes, cheers gaz
did you notice a better exhaust note with yours, think i need someone to drive mine to see if it sounds any different
give it time mate mine took a few days when i had my diesel then after that was alot better
nice one cheers paul
Hairy, diesels done make much noise really - well in the car anyway. I can hear the turbo spool when I accelerate and also hear it spin down when I lift my foot off of the throttle.
Mine gives a deep rumble between 2,000-3,000rpm - but you still no it's a diesel as the clattery sound is still there.
The noise will also change, slightly though.
Did you get a system from the turbo to the back of the car - removing Pre-CAT, CAT, centre silencer and rear silencer(s)? Or was it a cat back system?
mine was the fulll monty on my vectra
just decat and then straight through to rear boxes.....does the precat make a bigger difference? also blanked egr three days ago....now that made a difference
