    Default Vec expensive to insure?....

Just got my renewal through..... £550!!!
Two years ago I ws paying £300. Then last year we had this so called 40% hike and my premium went to £423. Even on comapre sites im looking at £530!!
I thought it was only womens that was going up? My partner just had her renewal through and only a £10 increase!
I really dont get it. Is the Vec a high case car to insure?

Will give Chris Knott a try on Monday and if no joy there.. time to bow to the likes of Adrian Flux I think....

A remap is a engine modification and alters performance if you dont inform the insurance your insurance is null and void.

Massive price hikes seem the norm... Mine went from 550£ to 890 with Direct line... got it down a bit.

There was a thread about this a while back and the thing that seemed to make a lot of difference was your postcode.

IMHO, just an excuse to skank us rotten, on the backs of 'there's so many false claims' etc. WELL, IT'S FRAUD AGAINST YOU, SO YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, NOT SCAM US IN RETURN!!!

i know that but for example if i bought my car and the person who sold it never told me about a remap is their anything apart from proformace that could tell me or the insurance as if you had to make a claim after a crash would the insurnace company put it on to a computer and say its been remapped
i only ask as i dont know what happens on a remap does it go on to a national computer or something
also is Chris Knott cheap as im paying 1k ayear with 3 years no claims for a gsi
