NOTHING TO DO WITH ME .

    Spotted this on Ebay .

    A 18 VXL

Out of curiosity , why does Vauxhall only put 1.9 engine badges and upwards on the boots of their Vectras ?

In general, the lowest spec of engine doesn't have the badge on it. For instance, you'll never find 1.3 CDTi on a Corsa - only CDTi. Higher diesel engines will have 1.7 CDTi etc.

On the Vectra's, there's no 1.8 badge for the petrols, although the 1.9 CDTi 120 has the whole numbering and lettering.

    It's a Vauxhall thing...

I thought the only way to differentiate the 120 from the 150 cdti was the ti on the boot of the 150 was red and on the 120 it was just normal chrome.

That's not accurate though - someone else could change them and the v5's have been known to be wrong too. The only certain way is the check the position of the oil cap...

I think the point was that the standard badging on the rear of the car is not 1.9CDTi 120 or 150, but mearely 1.9CDTi with the Ti in either red or chrome.

    Cool plate

My wife has 'L40 VXL' (LAD are her intials) and I have 'A 16V VX' on mine.

That would be a good plate to add to the collection.
