Out of curiosity , why does Vauxhall only put 1.9 engine badges and upwards on the boots of their Vectras ?

In general, the lowest spec of engine doesn't have the badge on it. For instance, you'll never find 1.3 CDTi on a Corsa - only CDTi. Higher diesel engines will have 1.7 CDTi etc.
On the Vectra's, there's no 1.8 badge for the petrols, although the 1.9 CDTi 120 has the whole numbering and lettering.
It's a Vauxhall thing...
That's not accurate though - someone else could change them and the v5's have been known to be wrong too. The only certain way is the check the position of the oil cap...
i have a 1.8 sri, cant be bothered to change the plate though

My wife has 'L40 VXL' (LAD are her intials) and I have 'A 16V VX' on mine.
That would be a good plate to add to the collection.
