    Default Cruise Control Problems

Hi all, I've recently been having problems with my cruise control. When I'm driving along with it activated it will sometimes turn itself off (my feet are nowhere near my cluth and brake pedal) also it doesn't even turn on sometimes and I have to press the button several times and finally it really struggles to stay on when I'm doing, say, 60mph for example, and I press the resume button for it to go back upto 70mph .

    I was wondering,
    • If it's the spring in the cluth problem, how much am I looking at for a new spring and can I do the job myself?
    • I've heard dis-connecting the battery for a few minutes solves this?
    • And also, is there a fuse I need to check for this?

Unsure on the fuse but it could be the clutch switch. Try lifting the clutch up with your foot gently and see if it switches off then. Pretty sure the switch can be changed yourself. If you want (and if you can come) there's a meet next Wednesday at Cheshire Oaks by the old Borders book shop. I'll bring my diagnostic stuff if you want. Can also clean the contacts on the stalk itself but for the life of me I can't remember how to get them out.

Resume is the bottom button (also used for decreasing speed) press it when cruise is turned off and car will speed upto last set speed

Anybody know how to get the right stalk off, I've heard that you can just pull it but won't this break it? Tried lifting the clutch pedal but this doesnt stop the problem
