Default 2.2 Direct Power loss Again

After searching the forum for answers on why my 2006 2.2 Direct signum Suddenly has lost power I have come accross 2 possible causes
The car seems to hesitate low down revs and seems to want to cut out (No dashboard lights at all)

1 Cam chain has slipped a tooth
However wouldnt it run like a bag of spanners and sound rough if it had slipped there has been no noise when engine was turned off and the car sounds no different still quiet and starts ok

    2 MAF Sensor failed
I have unplugged the MAf and the car behaves no different so could this be faulty

The fuel pressure regulator has been changed as per recall and the car is covered by a mechanical warranty (unless they have a get out clause but i cant get the car looked at till tuesday and its doing my head in
    ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED

    Thanks in advance

It is a seimens pump but I thought the issue with the HP fuel pump was sorted with the recall for the regualtor?

The HP fuel pump never even crossed my mind (when you set off or rev the car it really hessitates) what are the symptoms of a failure would there be no warning lights?

Also what are your thoughts on the Chain slipping is this a possibility?

I've had both problems mate the problem you are describing sounds like the fuel pump as they were the same symptoms as mine changed the pump and fired up lovely. When my chain jumped a few teeth the car wouldn't even start

Well as you've already said you unplugged the MAF and ****** all changed, I'd say that's a pretty good starting point. Whip it out, give it a good clean out and a little light oil and whack it back in ..... start with the cheapest probably remedy.
