Default Rear cluster replacement - is it easy?

As some of you know I smashed my offside rear light cluster (53 plate SRI) - so have ordered a replacement which will be with me tommorrow hopefully.

Anyone know if its easy to replace - looking inside the boot in the cubby hole it appears to be secured with three screws - is it just a case of unscrewing these and pulling the cluster away, then unclipping the bulb holder out, and vice versa for the new one?

Or is that not how it comes off and am I likely to enccounter any probs that anyone knows of?

    Cheers in advance

    ste

    Hi mate,

it's held in with 8mm nuts.. 4 of them to be precise... just unscrew them and pull the cluster back..

there is enough slack in the wires to be able to disconnect it outside the car, rather than have to reach right round.

it is easier to remove the boot liner on that side thou, as the inner nuts can be hard to locate through that cubby hole

Can I correct you please Mark, 3 nuts mate. Also one of the nuts requires a bit of pressure against the boot liner to get a socket driver on it, and the other one up the top is a pig to get at.. I managed to use the right size socket on it with a little dumpy flat blade to stick in the end of it because the driver will not fit.

Thats just my personal way of doing it.

    I'll be corrected mate... anytime..

I take the liner out so as not to drop any of the po%y nuts down into the vehicles frame.
