    Default JUST BROKEN DOWN, Hanger Lane, London,pls help!

    Rac on route. Pulled away from lights quite sharpest to slip in front of another car. Loss of power, big plume of black smoke from exhasust. Car won't restart, seems like battery flat or somthing is jamming engine cycle preventing it from turning over. Worryingly this comes tthree weeks after a 170bhp remap (its a 2006, 120 cdti) Any I'deas? Pls call 07930434670 Chaz

    just a guess mate but possibly fuel pump?..........hope its not serious tho mate

    Theres your problem a 120 will remap to 150bhp. If its kicking out 170bhp its going to kill something. Strong words needed with whoever mapped your car.

    Possibly the 3rd injector. It could be anything but I doubt it's the fuel pump for the time being and it's better to eliminate the simple causes first.

    As said chaeck boost hoses and the 3rd injector plug.

    Usually they crank really fast if the belt's gone as there's no compression any more, sounds like the head needs to come off if it wont turn, broken piston?
    Try pushing it in 6th gear and see if it turns over, if not take the head off.

    Sorry for the late reply. The RAC carted her off to my garage and I had to go rent a Astra to get my and two friends to the Wilderness Festival up in Banbury.

    The Turbo ate it's self, prop fins compleatly shreaded, metal slivers everywhere, enought to justify buying a new Intercooler.

    As sugested I will be going back to the tuner with the 1k bill I'm looking at.

    I will of course refrain from bringing the tuners name into this untill they have a chance to defend themselves. I did ask questions about the 170bhp map I went for and assumed that was a safe option (as well as tyre/licence saving) as the tuner was offering 180bhp maps.

    Was assured it was safe and certinaly did not sign any kind of disclaimer regarding risk. Thought this was the safest form of tuning available!.

    Next stop, email the tuner. I'll let you know how I get on.
