    confused ebay polisher/sander

    to the guys who know about polishers - detailing....can you tell me am i wasting my money with this?

    Nowt wrong with that, if you're starting off with one of those, you might be best testing on a scrap panel first

    I got a similar one I got it from Germany I had now for 3 year only thing I would get is different pads for it like 3M

    dan - is that because it would be too aggressive?- I could pop over and you could demonstrate on my car
    so would i be better buying one without pads and buy my own?

    Test on a scrap panel first as it is a rotary and they are slightly less forgiving than a DA. Heat build up etc. Once you know how to use it you will be fine.

    TBH you can get the finish the same with both the main difference is the speed. You could complete a car about 2-3 hours quicker with a rotary as it will remove the clear coat faster, hence being a little less forgiving. You will read horror stories about them, but as long as you research on how to use it and practice with it on a scrap panel you will be fine with it. If you do practice on a scrap panel then I suggest you try to burn through the paint just so you know how far you can go on your car before burning through.
