    Default Category C + E (HGV)

Just been quoted for this course back to back, £1995,

1st Category C (All Rigid Vehicles)
    2nd Category C+E (Articulated Vehicles)

Includes all 1-1 training, theory test , medical and then retest if there is a fail at the end of it

Anyone know if this is a decent price

Sounds a good price to me. I thought it would be a lot more than that.

Like everyone else states,it does seem a good price,but...........make enquiries regarding the new CPC exam you will be expected to do,(all new HGV drivers have to aquire it to drive a HGV professionally). You may get some OP's saying you don't need it,but as a new license holder you will, believe me.The only people exempt from it are those who already hold the license,(and they will become liable to start their own qualifying process in 2013). FELIXX.

dont go to firms that will give you a deal their in london and will employ a small firm to do the work bypass them go to a normal firm that has the trucks and not just a office that puts these deals together and see what they can offer i did mine with red rose training and got more hours in the truck training and the instructor was telling me to avoid these agencys that tell you they will take care of it all they dont you will end up paying more in the long run
also yes once you pass you have to do your cpc training a couple hundred pound more after you pass also apply for a drivers card as well try and see if they will do a hiab in with the training red rose was giving it me for free but i failed being 2 secs distance on the motorway in the rain it should of been 4 sec

i thought you was excluded from this for the first 5 years after passing HGV? you just apply for the digi tacho and away you go.

Every hgv and pcv driver are legally required to hold the cpc certificate by 2014, you can do it in stages, or all at once, either way you need it all before 2014, that applies to newly qualified drivers too. You will also NEED a digital tachograph card, or 'driver card' too, about £30 for that. Good price too and '6009tristanb' is spot on with avoiding the agencies, they are theives, theyll promise you help with finding work.... they didnt for me, they gave me a template for a CV!! I went back to the actual firm to do my C+E and saved £170. Good luck.
