I had an annoying rattle on mine a few months back and I found it was the fixings holding the centre console to the car (the long plastic thingy that goes over the gear stick \handbrake etc)

The fixings are located to the front, between the gear stick and pedals....

I hope I've made sense, and I hope it solves your problem as it took me months to find them!

I'd say it was either the anti roll bar to subframe bush or the anti roll bar drop links, worn drop links are common, although the good news is that they are cheap and easy to fix.

I have fitted stronger drop links listed for a saab 9-3 however i can't remember the manufacturers name.

no worries, the fixings were fine they had just worked loose.

They are very odd fixings though, from memory it was a nut over a screw....?

Also, reading the other reply I assumed the noise was coming from inside your car so my help may be completely useless! lol

When my exhaust shield came loose and the bolts sheared i used a good dollop of clear mastic/silicon as a glue n wedged the shield against the mastic with a trolley jack overnight until it cured.

If any of mine shear then I'll drill our the broken thread and put in some self tapping screws. But if all else fails then the mastic it will be!! Looks like I'm putting it off til tomorrow now
