    Default V6CDTi won't start anymore

Got to England, jolly happy that the car was doing alright so you can imagine the shock I got when 1100miles from home my car doesn't want to start. I have been experiencing the occasional power loss (like scv failure symptoms) but didn't pay much attention to it as it usually fixed itself after a while. Are the SCVs now finally dead?

Does anyone know a decent and not expensive mechanic in Wiltshire Melksham-Bristol area? sb1uk is yet to answer to my private message...I've about a week to fix the car, if I don't I'll have to fly back home and leave the car behind lol

    HELP ANYONE!

The engine will idle with one or both SCV blocked
    Clearly this is something else

Given all the problems you have had, why did you not have basic breakdown cover?
At least this would have transported the failed car back home and giving you a replacement hire car for a few days

I want breakdown cover that will take me 1100 miles home. Poxy Direct Line keep trying to sell me a policy that covers the first 10 miles of recovery or abandons me at the nearest garage...

First thing I'd suggest is trying to re-prime the fuel system.

Haven't come up with the second thing yet

Get some easy-start to get the engine turning over and drawing the fuel through. Where abouts are you mate? PM me if it's easier...

Any propellant sprayed into the air intake should work, a well known HGV starter trick when run out of fuel
I've used deodorant before to start a Scania

I'm in Melksham mate I'll try starting it with carb cleaner later.

The funny thing is that the car was absolutely fine for the first 600 miles of the journey. When I tried starting it up the next morning at the hotel in Germany it struggled and when it finally did start it had no power (severe juddering at 1700rpm and foot down, like SCV failure). So I drove like that to the ferry in France The car started OK-ish on the ferry, but still had no power like before. 2 miles before the end of the journey I booted it to see if it has power and funnily enough I got thrown in the seat Parked it up on my mate's drive and two hours later it struggled to start, but it did (had power). The next morning it didn't start at all and is still there.

The car only splutters with carb cleaner in the intake. I squirted some and then tried cranking. Should I keep spraying it while someone else is cranking the car?

Fuel starvation maybe? Can you get the filter off for a look, maybe try it without the filter in it?
