Brake Light Warning Light

Brake Light Warning on Dash and display, I have changed both bulbs on Drivers side as it was the middle one that was not lighting up, so replaced both bulbs on that side, still doesn't work and warning still comes on. What should I check now? Read on hear about one buld becoming the bbrake light if the other blows ??? Any help appreciated.

Yes when a bulb blows at the back the car uses it's brain and changes it to a diffrent place so it still lights up

spray the earth with some wd40, failing that spray the brake pedal switch with wd40 ;-)

Rear light positions (from the top down)

Indicators
Tail & brake lights
Tail lights (which then becomes a brake light as well should the original tail/brake light fail)
Fog light (drivers side only - UK)
Reverse lights.

All bulbs are 21 watt single filament bulbs. The tail light runs at a reduced voltage until the brake pedal is pressed, then full voltage is applied to make it brighter. Clever stuff this canbus network.

as above when the brake buld fails the rec moves the brakelight down to the next bulb.

thats why your side light is a 21w but only works at about 25% power until the above is required

Ok I have brake lights working how do I get rid of the warning light on the dash and display (one on display goes away when you press the nav scroll on LH side of steering wheel) but the warning light still stays on in the dashboard ??

All bulbs replaced and still showing fault and only the middle bulb lighting up instead of he upper one which was blown. Canbus canbus canbus how do I fix you!!!

If the bulbs are working, then the error message or fault warning light shouldn't be showing.

Sounds like you've either got a dodgy connection or still have a blown bulb.
