    Question Exhaust is kippered!

Ok, so I've only had the car a few days, one of the things I noticed when buying it was the poor condition of the exhaust. Now I own it and have managed to get a proper look at it, it's worse than I thought. One of the hangers (drivers side back box) has completely snapped. I've rang around for a price to replace it Flippin eck! Now I know why it wasn't replaced by it's previous owner! The big question is this: Where would you guys get a replacement from? And will I just have to come to terms with the fact that I gotta take my trousers down when I get a new one at the garage? I'd go down the stainless route if I could do that cheaper. But I still want to keep it nice and quiet. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Chad.

Is it a whole new system your after? Single or dual exit?

Looking at £200-£300 for single from downpipe with centre box and £350+ for twin exit from downpipe in stainless and they will make it as quiet or loud as you want lol.....Plus you get to choose what tailpipes you want.

Try MIJ in walsall or find your local powerflow dealer...Stainless is the way as it comes with a lifetime guarantee...

a custom stainless will be quite a bit cheaper than a original replacement. besides you can make it look and sound how you want, cheaper and way better IMO

Oops, forgot to say what it was. It's a Signum (2004) 2.2 with dual exit. I have a powerflow place not too far away. May be worth giving them a call.... I think just the cat back should do. The rear boxes are not in good shape at all.

Cheers for the quick replies guys,

    Chad.

Genuine twin rear box is about £500

    Definitely better off going custom.

It's worth pricing up a custom job... my truck was £850 +VAT + fitting for an original part and £400 + VAT fitted for a turbo back stainless one. Costs nothing to ask for a quote

Thanks for the replies. I called a local Powerflow dealer last week to see how much they'd charge for one of their systems. Well, maybe half a system...... Anyhoo, VERY expensive! They said between £600 and £700!!!! Problem is, I don't know any actual custom exhaust makers to try. Anyone got any ideas? I'm in Stoke-on-Trent.

    Chad.
