Looks like it needs new bumper/grill, rear bumper and tailgate (and an aerial)

With a bit of attention could be a fit car for the price
It's probably the tailgate cost that puts people off...would be a cheaper fix if it was a saloon. Is it feasible to take out bonded rear screens without breaking them, so they can be reused?
I'm sure it would be posible if enough care was taken
best off paying a glass fitter to remove it
you can remove a bonded screen but some times they do go pop the tailgate may be repairable youd need to lift the tailgate and look to see the boot floor and rear wings is ok and look under it to see just how hard its been hit and that all the door gaps line up ok and so far from just looking at it your talking new grill and repair the front bumper new rear bumper and crash bar under it new tailgate and boot floor work depending on just how hard its been hit
Sure is fixable IMHO, I think the pricing is reflecting the engine choice were it a 2.0 CDTi it might be a different story as it looks a reasonable fix,, if as Rab note's the boot floor is OK, might want to see if fluids are all intact and pipes undamaged at the nose too?
Cat D and 22mpg? Think i'll pass.
something will have been bent to make it a cat D. It a reasonable project car but surely the spares market is a little pricey still for these..
Heavier damage would make it a Cat-C Nige; Cat-D is usually where it's stolen, the insurer pays out within a week of the theft claim being lodged with them by the customer, and then a while later the car is recovered by the police. By then it belongs to the insurance company and not the customer, and the insurers want to turn it into cash ASAP so they sell it to a salvage company.
