    Default Misfire on 2.2dti

    Hi peeps

I was minding my own business just driving steady down the A580, then all of a sudden the car hesitated almost like a hiccup then carried on, this has happend a few times now.

I dont drive it hard and both times ive been driving appox 10 mins.

    Glow plugs, turbo, fuel pump?

    Thanks Ian

It won't be glow plugs as that's only used to start the car in low temps. Do you have an estate or signum? It may be doing a regen. Did anything come up on the dash?

How long has it been doing this? Mine does it sometimes too depending on the revs. Won't be a DPF regen either, the DTi's don't have DPFs fitted.

Possibly a split in one of the vacuum pipes. Check them carefully for signs of perishing.

You say you don't drive it hard... Give it a blast through the entire rev range in 1st, 2nd, and third gears (when fully warmed up), to clear any muck out, etc. I do this once every week or two. Just covered 100k miles and runs as sweet as new.

Yeah sorry its a Signum design, nothing comes up on the dash, ive not had it long, ive only done 900 miles since owning it so couldnt say how long its been doing it.

it did twice on the way home again today.

Ill check the hoses/pipes at the weekend then give it a run out possibly down some country roads, best way to give any engine a clear I find. (ive driven lots of different vans up n down the uk for years) lol

must agree though, mines just over 100k and mostly runs sweet.

    Thanks guys.
