    Default K&N Air Filter - 150 CDTi

Will I really notice any difference to the way my car runs if I was to fit a K&N air filter? I have already done the airbox mod but use a standard air filter.
    Thoughts.....

Notice a difference in your wallet more than anything else.

Maybe a slight better noise when the cars breathing but wouldn't imagine any massive performance gains, maybe a placebo effect. Think K&N has a wee bit less filtration than the normal OEM ones 2.

I'm "thinking" of putting a mushroom cone I have on inside the air box that's there (if there's a secure way to connect it to the MAF) and doing away with the panel filters (more for noise than anything else).

I would also be interested in this, just not sure if it is worth doing or would work well?

I fitted one when I did the airbox mod, the "lag" got a bit better, and I could hear the turbo whistle as it spooled up. Other than that, no BHP or MPG change. Get better result using V power derv.
I didn't buy the K&N for that though, I bought it because it will last the length of the time I'm committed to the car, and can be cleaned and replaced, rather than keep buying and throwing away.

Put it this way, you won't feel any difference until after 6 month you decide to swap back... that's when you notice

Well, I did just that, on two occasions and never noticed a jot of difference both times.
