    Default Signum Window Trim

Has anyone removed the trim circled in red below, the one separating the two pieces of glass in the Signum rear doors? I need to remove mine to sort the flaky matt paint. (Photo from Parkers.co.uk BTW)

I looked at doing this so I could vinyl wrap it.

It's the window and winder mechanism out job then two bolt to lift the runner out the door.

I left it on the car, scraped the worst of it off, and wrapped it on the car.

I'm thinking of wrapping it as well, probably a matt black to match the rest of the window furniture. When you did it "in situ" do the edges of the wrap look ok, i.e. tucked in properly?

    No it's not.

Door main panel trim off, one bolt at the bottom of the pillar behind the door trim (there's an access hole to get a socket into), wind the window down and the bar pops out. Done loads of them now to vinyl wrap them for people, the estate one's are the same btw.

I can have that bar out in about 2 mins flat fella, they're easy to do. If you want a hand, give me a shout, you're welcome to come up here if you like.

If we'd had this convo 3 weeks ago when you lived in Stevenage and I occasionally popped into the town for meetings.....lol.

Are you certain it's as you've desribed tho, given that yours is the estate? I shook the trim a bit and the small/fixed piece of glass moves with it...?

The glass is a tight fit into the rubber seal and yes I'm sure, done a couple of Signums now too, check Alan's (Daywalker) if he's posted any pics I carbon trimmed his for him the other week.

Seriously fella, it's a simple job, take the main door panel off, pop the chrome exterior trim out, wind the window down and remove one bolt at the bottom of the bar on the inside, the bar will then pop downwards out of the clip at the top and come out

The hardest bit is getting the glass back into the rubber trim on the bar when you put it back, that's a little fiddly, but a tiny screw driver and carefully run it down the rubber seal as the window pops back in and you're fine.

Cheers, I shall have a go.

If it doesn't work and I ruin the door, is it easy to cut and shut an estate door to fit a Signum, and your car is Ultra Blue, right? And is it the far side of Cambridge you've moved to, or the near side?

Lol, the doors are the same at the bottom, but the tops are very different (as I found out when I bought factory Signum roller blinds to replace my old tatty ones (cartridge fitted the door perfectly but the blinds were a different shape at the top). Wanna buy some factory blinds for a Signum? lol

If in any doubt mate, seriously if you fancy the drive, you're welcome to pop up, bring the film with you and I'll do it for you. Yeah it's a bit further than it used to be we're about 3/4 of an hour away from Stevenage (Witchford).

I've mis-understood the TIS then, Was told it was a major by a mate who does things like this for a living, had a quick look on the TIS and dicided not to bother.
