    Default Rear washer

    Hi,

My rear washer is not working very well, what the best way to sort it?

It mostly does work at all and other times you have to hold it for ages and it barely comes out.

    Any help please?

    Carl

I take it the front ones are ok?

Have you tried inserting a small pin into the hole to see if the nozzle is blocked?

Could be a problem with the pump which has two outlets, one for front windscreen and one for rear.

Yeah, front is fine and there is plenty of fluid in the bottle.

I have tried a pin in the hole several times, which works for a while, but then stops again.

Any ideas? How much is a new pump?

Sounds like it is dirt in the nozzle. On the standard hatch ariel base the washer jet can be pulled out. You could then remove the jet, make sure the pipe is secured so it doesn't fall into the headlining, then flush out the tube by operating the washer. Then clean the nozzle using a pin and blow back through it. HTH

You're pushing the crud back into the system and when you next squirt the rear screen the crud shoots forward and blocks the nozzle again.

Do as tridley suggests, or get someone to operate the squirter while you poke the nozzle with a pin.
