confused recommend me a spray gun and compressor

Firstly if this is posted in the wrong section I apologize-mods please move

right i have obtained a full front end facelift conversion and it wants spraying,
it has been suggested to me that has I'm damned good at diy then why don't I do it myself!

the paintwork is very good apart from some small very shallow scratches and a couple of stone chips- and some touch up been badly done on the bumper but very small areas effected.

so to cut along story short would i be able to do thiis with some guidance?
i can get various bits of steel from work to practise on.

what will I need - likely costs involved, many thanks Andy

As for a spray gun geta devilbis it's the choice of pro's. You dont have to get the £200+ one, theres a range called FLT or FLG can't remeber of the top of my head. I'll find a link.

This is what i bought for my Vdub, Its excellent for base coats and lacquer. You would need someting like a 1.8 for primer tho. Probably find them on the bay cheaper.

I have a small but more than adeqaute compressor if your interested. Just PM me

you would need at least a 50 Ltr Tank ideal would be 100 ltr Make does not matter but something displacing about 14cfm would be plenty
Sprayguns are not cheap but its just like motors the more you pay the better the gun i use Devilbiss GTI Pro which is the best i have had so far and have an old gun i use for undercoating New GTI gun is £240 and compressor can vary from £150 to megga bucks

Some time back, for the classic cars, I bought an electric spraygun and compressor highly recommended by Practical Classics. Came with a "proper" meal spraygun same make as the one we used at work, at the time. I didn't use it much but it was supposedly capable of good quality finishes. It was about the size of a wet and dry vacuum. This was the make:

Mine was smaller and around £100 but same gun and High Volume Low Pressure system.
