Very Strange Problem

This has been posted on another site & am very curious as to what has caused this so thought I'd put you guys up to it.

"I have an 04 Vectra (Vectra C) 1.9 TDI 6 Speed Gearbox.
The blowers only work if the Glovebox/Doors are closed AND any lights are of in the car.
So on a night, they dont work, as i have the front lights on.
They stop working if you open the doors, or glove box, or go to switch the interior light on.
The interior light does not work, AND the lights on the dash dont work now either.

Vauxhall said they cant fix the problem because i have had an after market stereo fitted. But i think this is just an excuse as they cant find the problem. (REG VARDY!)

Iv took it to an auto electriction, he said he's never seen anything like this before and couldnt find the problem.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this problem before? Ive tried changing the Relays but that hasnt helped. Iv checked the Fuses and they are all ok.

Anyone got any ideas?

Im going to put the old stereo back in and try not to show any traces of modification and take it to another vauxhall dealer (REG VARDY ARE ****!!)"

The guy has since put his OE radio back in & still the fault remains. Only thing I can think is Vardy's are talking **** as from what I've read on here they're by far the greatest.

possibly one of the modules throwing a fit or possibly an earthing problem.

If this was an older car I would say it was a short in the lighting circuit, you turn on the light switch and the power earths itself through a curt or burred wire but with the canbus I have no clue. Ive had probs with vardy in the past when I bought the car and the air con didnt work. Do as I did mate, take it to another dealer, it is your right to take it to any vx dealer for waranty work.

Sounds like an earthing problem

I wonder if it is anything to do with the new stereo causing the earthing problem.

Try taking the stereo out & see if every thing works OK without it.

Well to add fuel to the fire he's fitted aftermarket setero using an ISO adaptor harness so car's only half CAN bus, he's refitted factory stereo & problem still remains.
I reckon his caught the illumination wire for the radio against the cage/chasis of radio & popped a fuse. He says he's checked all fuses but I bet this is what's happened.
