    Default Anyone got Sky Broadband yet?

    As above. Just got my confermation Email through and sighned up. Just got the base package to see how that goes cos its free, only get 2mb but as im only on dial up at the moment its going to be lke light speed for me.

    2mb top speed should be fine but depends on your contention ratio. The more people to share that 2Mb, the slower it is.

    Its only £5 for 8 mb and £10 for 16mb so not to much to upgrade.

    Yep, had it a few weeks now.

    No big problems apart from the switchover from my old supplier being three days late. Apparantly BT were behind, I don't know if they still are.

    The service is generally okay, but it can slow down and log you out between 7pm and 10pm (peak hours). If you find this problem, look up how to set the signal to noise ratio. The Sky Broadband forum on Digital Spy explains how to do it.

    Ive not gone with sky talk if thats what your on about as we are on talk talk at the moment so all I have to do cancel Aol dial up. Cheers for the heads up on Digital spy.

    Well we had a great introductory letter from them about 2 weeks ago - sounded really interesting and great value...........unfortunately the closing sentence was

    "Although this service is not currently available in your region, we thought you would be interested in seeing what the future holds for you as a Sky subscriber"

    Hi,

    Sorry, I wasn't clear. It's BT that connect you into Sky's broadband system. When your order has been processed there'll be an order to connect you on BT's system.

    i'd recommend the tiscali £19.99 package +BT line rental. broadband and free calls everyday.
