spinning ball joint

i tried to remove the track rod end ball joint nut, but it stuck half way down, so tryng now to tighten it up and it just keeps spinning, any ideas how i can stop the ball joint spinning?

Try and get pressure on the ball joint.

Use a ball joint splitter to prise it out. The tool exists because more often that not they do exactly what you're experiencing now.

You might be able to use a big screwdriver or some other lever to help push it down enough to stop it turning, but it's much easier with the correct tool!

whack the ball joint back into its seat,so it goes tight then take the nut off,then after that give the seat around the ball joint a good tap

cheers guys tried everything above to get the bleeding nut of, in the end i had to grind the nut of and get a new tre, what a ball ache
