Default Best shocks to use with -40mm springs.

I'm ordering all my suspension bits tonight and will be ordering H&R 40mm springs from Venom Motorsport along with new drop links, rear upper control arms, arb bushes etc.

I was looking at using the Bilstein B8 shocks initially, but just looked them up and realised quite how much they cost whilst I can probably scrape the money together if I have to, I'd much rather see if there's a cheaper option that will work with that much of a drop and make the car handle right.

So, any thoughts/recommendations/experience of shocks with that sort of drop?

No comments huh? Oh well, doing a bit of reading around it looks like it's gotta be the B8's, so far found them (and the H&R springs) cheapest at Larkspeed.

Anyone know of anywhere cheaper? (or have my posts become invisible lol).

Ordered the H&R's and B8's yesterday from Larkspeed, guy was really helpful and yeah, cheaper than anyone else I could find.

Although I will say in Venom Motorsports defence, I ordered a Spax PSX kit from them for my other Vec early last year and the service I got from them was superb. But I have heard other bad stories about them lol

Just had my car on a ramp today and need 2 front shocks, the B6's on Larkspeed are £150 each! (Couldn't see the B8's)

I have 30mm springs and will probably buy the B4's from LMF. £136 delivered for a pair or £134 for a pair of Monroes.

No other experience with what shock to use as have only had standard on my car - replacing the fronts now after 93k miles.
