WHY WHY WHY when joining a motorway even thought there is no one in the right hand lane , do they never move over to let you on, forcing you to speed up or slow down to join, happened to me 3 times today ! is there a reason for this.

It's much easier for you to adjust speed than them.
well, I do move over as its the profesional and curtious thing to do, however, it is called a slip road, hence, slip into the flow of traffic and is it safer for you entering the flow of traffic to adjust your speed or the truck. no brainer really...
trucks are allowed in the outside lane on duel carriage ways matey...
There is no need to, vehicles already on the main carriageway have right of way
Vehicles joining the carriageway should give way (and in extreme cases stop if necessary)
I too don't change lane, unless the vehicle merging from the minor carriageway has been indicating from the visible marker
its alot easier for a car to speed up than a wagon thats got a limiter fitted
sometimes pulling over is not an option plus wagons have blind spots also
It's upto you to merge with the traffic wether that involves you speeding up or slowing down is your choice its in the highway code. Is your car incapable of going over 56mph?
sometimes wagon drivers move over , some times they dont , sometimes they cant , either way its up to you to get yourself on the motorway in a safe way , there are ******** wagon drivers and there are ******** car drivers ..... what can one do ?
I wouldn't expect a 40 tonner to move over if I was joining the motorway in my car, as it's not too hard to read the road whilst you're on the slippy and adjust your speed into a gap in front or behind the wagon. Just approaching at approximately the speed of the flowing traffic means only a few mph either way is all that's needed...
If I'm in my loaded truck on a short uphill slippy and can't get to the speed of the HGVs, a vast majority of them do make space for me to join, if they can. Sometimes they can't - they're being passed. Worst case is you 'extend' the slippy into the hard shoulder! I do exactly the same for joining trucks and for joining groups of cars.
Only really get a problem when some doylum tries to join a group of 'stuck' trucks and they're on the slippy at 90... or 35...
