    Default Turn Signal Lamp/Indicator Warning

I have a Vectra C facelift and I am having trouble with the indicator light on the front passenger side. The warning message 'Turn Signal Lamp' is displayed on the infosystem screen. The indicator seems to work intermittently - so when I get the warning a bit of a fiddle under the bonnet the indicator works fine. However, I just have to go over a few bumps and the message appears on the screen (the indicator click is also double quick). Back under the bonnet and a quick knock in the right direction and it works again. I have also made sure that all the fuses are fully pressed home. I noticed from previous posts http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109719 that to replace the bulb is a major headache (remove the bumper!) but it sounds like I may not need to do that. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

    Change the bulb mate

Most certainly will be a poor bulb.

A minor inconvience. It really is no big deal to remove the bumper.

Or a dirty contact where the multiplug connects to the headlight unit or the bulb contact itself.

My vote is for a failing bulb. Quite often the filament breaks near one of the supports - but because it's fairly well held in position there, the ends touch and it works most of the time. There's also a slight electromagnet effect because the wire is coiled which will help hold the ends together. But a few bumps and the ends are too far apart for it to conduct. Give it a tap and they realign.

Change the bulb. I've never done it on a facelift, but have read the manual, and can see that actually it's not that hard at all.

Thanks for your replies. I went to Halfords today to buy a new bulb and they fitted it for me, just popped it out and put a new one in. A bit of a cop-out but seriously I am no good at stuff like this. Appreciate your responses.

A Young lad fitted it in 1 minute flat (He did have very small hands I might add)

    How much!!!

I'd sooner remove the bumper and refit it myself (¼ hour) and save £8 for the beer fund.

"The indicator seems to work intermittently"

Isn't that what they're supposed to do?
