Ive just ordered a blanking plate for my EGR that looks like this:
Firstly will it do the job? secondly, what will I need gasket wise to do the job?
Oh, the cars a 1.9CDTI 150 if that makes a difference?
Cheers

and yes it will be up to the job
Cheers matey.
If its here in time I'll get it on over the weekend.
note that it will throw the spanner light tho
I'm sure I can cope with that till I can find a tame mechanic with the right gear to turn the spanner off.
Youll need the map in the ECU changing mate disable the EGR checks etc...
I bought the blanking plate with the 8mm hole in the centre works fine .The very odd time the spanner light comes on . I may make the hole bigger in the future but the light dont bother me as it turns off after a few starts .
what does the blanking plate do?
Stops exhaust gasses being recirculated into the engine and dragging oily soot with them!
If I've got this right, the warning light is just a light with no other side effects (eg, limp mode) so provided I don't mind putting up with that it can stay on until I get the engine remapped?
