    Default Poor Service - Lookers Warrington

    I took my Vec C SRI into the above with a creaking seat and a few minor issues as still under warranty.

    Service came back stating that needed a new seat frame, questioned them why and said couldn't explain why, wanted to charge me £200 ish for new seat without being able to offer a valid explanation as to how it was faulty! Later stated ws not under warranty as seat frame is classed as 'TRIM' and wanted £90 labour to strip seat to investigate. Was told they had lubed rails and creak gone.

    Rear ashtray had popped out, gave them part and asked them to put back in and quouted me £45 for replacement, told them unbroken part was provided which they had subsequently broken.

    Also stated needed new brake discs and pads on the rear at a cost of £180 fitted, on questioning further stated the pads all worn by 10% and that there was slight scoring on the discs that could be changed when pads are replaced next. Pads were replaced within last 4 months!

    Picked car up later with ash tray broken and still not fitted, creaking seat now worse, later received text and voicemail from dealer asking if happy to which replied no and service manager contacted asking why not happy so otold why.. pointed out issues and agreed to replace ashtray which engineer had broken, strip seat and investigate properly this time.

    Car still there so will see how we get on!

    Beware if you take your car here as you may be quoted for things that dont need replacing! Back street garage it is not but acts like it!

    I stopped using Lookers 4 years ago. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. Their company motto is 'Customers for life'...........I do not think so.

    i dont use garages unless i have to only good thing main dealers are for is parts at trade prices

    I bought my car from Lookers in Burton on Trent.

    I'll never go back there.

    Once they've taken your money that's it they are not interested.

    Avoid!!!

    So harsh that garages are like this. I've been quoted £190 for front and rear pads and discs fitted, granted at a friend price. But £190 for just rears sounds steep.

    Prior to my Vec C, I had a Veccy B for 9 years. When it was aboput 2 years old (still in warranty), I had a problem with the front passenger seat, which started making a clonking sound when going over bumps.

    The main stealer tried to say it would only be covered if due to manufacturing fault! I asked how else it be faulty and they said it could be due to someone heavy using it!

    The biggest gripe I have with VX (from this forum it does seem to be across a wide range of dealerships) is having to constantly go on the deffensive and argue that a problem either really exits or if blantantly obvious, that it is not the customer's fault.

    My son traded in his Golf GTI for a deisel Insignia 6 months ago (14 month old SRI Nav) and has had npothing but trouble (gearbox/clutch juddering, wheel wobbles, parking brake reluctant to release, bluetooth issues and now corrosion bubbles on a rear wheel arch).

    The dealer has been less than helpful and he has been told, for instance, that he must take it 30+ miles to the nearest VX bodyshop for them to inspect the bubbles to see IF COVERED!!!

    Expect a row with the VX salesman who flogged him the pile of poo, if they try to get out of sorting the paintwork out!!
