    Angry Aarrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Just got the dreaded call, Signum's failed its MOT. Rear coil spring and I think he said drop link on front right has snapped, explains all the rattling around underneath, and the mad shake from the steering wheel when I brake hard...
So I'm now having to pay a total of £237 for the MOT, parts, labour, and VAT, I've not really got much of an option but to pay it as it needs fixing, does the price sound reasonable?
So it looks like I'm stuck with their courtesy Ford Transit Connect van for a little longer than hoped, it should be ready this afternoon hopefully, this Transit drives like a tractor...

If your quite handy with the tools you can easily replace the spring and drop link yourself and save quite a few quid in the process.

Problem is I would have no idea how to fit them, I don't even know what the drop link is tbh. I'm trying to teach myself what parts are and how to work on them, as I've always been interested in working on cars but have never had the chance to do anything much, apart from change light bulbs...

Im from Dronfield in NE Derbyshire.
Well picked the car up this afternoon and its all sorted and paid for, and just done a 30 mile round trip for a few things and the ride is much much smoother, so glad its sorted. Hopefully by next year I will have learnt some skills that will make having the mot a lot cheaper if anything needs doing. Its the reason why I joined the forum in the first place really, to pick up skills on how to work on the car, Im going to have a go at doing a service soon with an oil change and new filter with a bit of help from my partners dad, so hopefully that will teach me a bit
Now that ive had the coil spring replaced on the back passenger, would it be wise to get the drivers side rear spring replaced too?
