Question Fuel filters - high performance or standard

Has anybody looked into the world of high performance fuel filters and made sense of it? Despite having changed mine a year ago i think i need to change it ago, I think something may have got in when we had the tank off and uprated the fuel pump.

Now normally i would just use a standard GM fuel filter but was curious as to whether anybody had looked into or even tried out the perfomance fuel filter market. For most cars the standard one is fine but as mine has a bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors, bigger turbo etc etc etc I am wondering if I would benefit from one of these.

I also read somewhere (can't remember where) that the fuel filter for the V6 2.8 blocks is different, this could be due to higher fuel demand I am not sure. Can anybody verify this? Does the VXR have the same filter as the other 2.8 cars? If they are I would be tempted to give one of those try instead of some universal third party kit as i am not wanting to change the connectors or lines.

The Trade Club website lists the same part number and price for a Z20NET fuel filter as for a Z28NET one, so it looks like there isn't a GM higher performance one. It'd have to be aftermarket I think.

And if it is the same filter given the power difference between both cars (standard) would that not be sufficient for your car nige?

Hence the question. So if its the same one then its not really worth bothering about an aftermarket performance one that is probably more trouble than its worth.

Will just get myself a standard gm filter then. Thanks for the info.

I guess that would make sense (as you know I'm no mechanic though) but if the 2.8 filter is good for 280 bhp should be ok for our 2.0s. That's how I see it anyway.

LOL Show off Im still at around 210-220 (depending on which RR you beleive).

Defo think I am going for either the Saab 93 2.8T AWD Aero (280 bhp 0-60 5.4) or the pre 09 95 2.3 T Aero Hot next. Had a look at maptune for the 95 and they can take it to 470 bhp lol yes please.
