    Default Another warning light!!

    Morning guys,

Well I have another warning light come up on the dash...

This time its the power steering light. It only comes on when I am on a roundabout (and in Basingstoke we have plenty of those!!), when I go right/all the way round.

It only comes on for 2-3 seconds and in this time I dont feel the steering has changed in anyway, so not sure.

On the advisory for the MOT it mentions something and it seeping from a componet or something like that, so could that be the reason? Or could something be pinching when I turn the wheel?

Any help and advice would be greatly received!!

    Carl

Sounds like its low on fluid.

No, the MOT was done before I bought the car.

Its going in for a new back box to be fitted this Friday, I will mention it then.

A tip - when you get an advisory on an MOT, they mention it because they think it may cause a problem before the next MOT is due. So you should always investigate them, and at least satisfy yourself that it either isn't an issue you need to worry about (eg an advisory for a missing aircon belt on a vehicle that you know the aircon system won't work because it leaks), or you need to do something about (eg a fluid leak or tyres almost worn down to the legal limit).

Have a look at the power steering reservoir (you can see it from underneath, it's directly on the steering rack) and see what the level is.

My reservoir in in the wheel arch, directly below the offside headlight, where most Vec-C PAS reservoirs are. Granted there is a Vec-C that has the reservoir elsewhere, but I can't recall which engine model that is.

    Hi Guys,

Well the car went into for an intrim service today and to also have the powering steering looked at.

The gaiter/s were replaced, but I was told it was full of fluid and that a new steering rack is probably on the cards!!!

Has anyone else had this problem?? How much am I looking at either from Vauxhall or a small garage?

I have only had the car since the end of April and have had to make repairs on the car already. I think I will write a letter to the garage we bought it from and say that I am mega ****ed!!!!

    What you think??

My Siggy has had the steering warning on since i got it, when we plugged it up to computer it said Communication with steering column switch module communication faulty but the steering is fine.

I have seen some other posts on here where people have had the same thing but the steering goes heavy.

Did they find any fault codes or did they not look?

    hope that helps,
    Dave
