    Default vectra 2.2 direct sri

Wondering if anyone can help?recently bought a 54 plate direct sri. not much history with it,but i didnt pay much for it!It run fairly well at first,i give it a full service and it seemed fine.It has now developed a lumpy idle, which causes juddering when pulling away. The car was still driveable, especially when you got out on the motorway, it just seems to be at low revs and pulling away.Quite sluggish acceleration up until about 4000rpm then it would be smooth and quicker. The problem does seem to of worsened now and when firing it up yesterday from warm it died and eml was on.managed to get it started and after a few stalls and starts got it home.
I have read a lot of posts and a lot would suggest possible fuel pump and/or regulator? Possibly the coil pack or the egr valve? Not sure where to start, i have cleaned the throttle body out, which was covered in sh*t!when looking down into the inlet there does appear to be a lot of soot and carbon build up,would this be a cause?Going to plug it in next week and see if it churns any codes out,but just looking for some advice until then.seems a lot of people have these problems.thanks

You can blank the direct with a home made "coke can" blanking gasket where the EGR pipe to the manifold meets the head.

is this literally just a blank behind the pipe where it meets the manifold and tighten it down?thus completely blanking off its function although it is still in situ?

would the egr if its sticking cause the car to have a rough idle and judder when pulling away?

    Yes mate.

If its stuck open then it would give a rough idle mate. The thing with blanking an EGR alone is the EGR still has to be working or it will throw fault codes. If you have no fault codes then this method is a cheap fix.

hi, turns out after doing a diagnostic that it is the dreaded fuel pump and regulator!I know a lot of people have had this issue,if not everyone! Can anyone tell me where the cheapest place for the parts may be?Or is there any way i can get some of it from vauxhall for free?lol.Wishful thinking.

Yes, just took mine to vauxhall for the regulator recall. Thing is if its the regulator that has caused the pump to fail, then surely they should replace the pump as well?I have seen threads on here where they have done this, but not everyone seems to be so lucky.
