confused 05 Vectra 2.2 direct petrol. Cutting out

    hi all
my car cut out only a few seconds after the car with the spanner light came on.ive had this problem a couple of times in the last month. 1st time the engine was warm, i turned the air con on and the light came on. as i pulled away from the traffic lights the car cut out. i tried to start it up but it kept turning over.after 2 or 3 attempts it started and i carried on for it to cut out again 5 mins later. it did this 3 times. The last time the warning light cleared and i didnt have a problem for a few weeks.
2nd time i was on holiday last week. i did 200miles going to south wales with no problems. On the way back i did about 100miles so the engine was quite warm.I got stuck in traffic and after a couple of minutes on came the light and it cut out and wouldnt start.managed to start it after a few minutes of trying. called the AA out and by the time he came out the car was fine.We couldnt get the light to come on again!!! Of i went home for another 100 miles back home without a problem.....
    sorry for the long post.
Can anyone help. i have ha the car plugged in but there are no stored errors??

could it be when the engine is hot as the 2 instances it has happened the engine was warm? im stuck.....

I had this last year, your symptoms sound the same as happened with mine, and it'll only get worse... Even though my car was 5 years old the dealer did my FPR on the recall, so didnt me cost nowt..

Very strange you're getting no stored fault code for it though.. But lets hope it is indeed your FPR, cause if its the Pump then thats gonna cost you a bit..

Yep, after they changed the FPR it was all back to good, been running sweet for the past year since.. But when mine did start giving problems it stored the error code "P1191 - Fuel Pressure System Malfunction" .. Is strange your car isnt..

Yea, hopefully having yours changed will cure your ills
