    Default Parking Sensors Wiring

    Hi,

I installed a parking sensor kit which consisited of 4 front sensors and 4 back. Once installed, the shortest wire on both the front and rear sensors only JUST reached the control box! Put it all back together when it clicked.....how am I going to take the bumpers off again??

My only conclusion is that I'll have to cut the wiring and attach a connector in front and back bumpers. But having checked the internet, I can't find any 8 way waterproof connectors? The max I can find is 6 way.

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm thinking, as each of the sensors has two wires connected to them, would it be fair to assume that one wire is ground? And hence could I have the ground of each sensor connected all to one/two pins, and connect the other wires seperatly? That way a 5/6way connector would suffice.

    Cheers in advance

Just thinking actually that the sensors maybe act more like a resistor? But in the same vain as before, that means they must all being delivered with the same common live, so could I connect that connection from all the sensors to one/two pins?

What about using 4 two-way connectors? It's a bit more messing around but you shouldn't need to remove the bumper too often.

TBH I could use just 2x 4way in each bumper, but I was hoping to have them all in one connector. If there is no common connection then I won't have a choice, but thought I'd ask first.
